Reconstruction of Plantar Forefoot in Diabetic Foot Ulcers: A Comparative Study of Perforator Flaps and Random Flaps

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Plastic and reconstructive surgeons consider a variety of options to salvage limbs patients when operating on soft tissue defects the plantar forefoot in diabetic foot ulcers. This study focuses efficacy durability perforator flaps compared that random flaps, covering area patients.
Methods: From January 2011 August 2020, we performed 49 reconstructions cover diabetes using local regional perforator-based or free flaps. The patients’ clinical characteristics, size defects, surgical outcomes complications were reviewed retrospectively.
Results: Forty-nine underwent reconstruction over period reviewed. Eleven female others male. mean age was 54.2 years (range, 32–73 years). Median follow-up 5.2 months. defect 7.2×4.5 cm. During periods, partial complete loss closely observed. We identified wound 67% 11% 21% respectively.
Conclusion: Soft distal third can severely worsen quality life. Perforator-based providing better vascularized than be used attain acceptable functional aesthetic results for patients.

Use of Local Perforator Flaps for Post Burn Reconstruction

BACKGROUND Mainstay of post-burn reconstruction is release and split skin grafting. Pedicle flaps are cumbersome to the patient, require multiple procedures and hospitalization. Free flaps are technically demanding and facilities are not universally available. Here we evaluated the local perforator flaps for post-burn reconstruction. METHODS We have used sixteen perforator propellar flaps fo...

Perforator Flaps for Reconstruction of Lower Limb Defects

BACKGROUND Reconstruction of soft tissue defects in the lower third of the leg remains challenging. Anatomical constraints limit the local options available for complex defects especially lower third of leg. Local flaps based on perforator vessels are raising interest in reconstructive surgery of the limbs. We present our experience with perforator flaps for reconstruction of soft tissue def...

Breast reconstruction with perforator flaps.

BACKGROUND Perforator flaps represent the latest in the evolution of soft-tissue flaps. They allow the transfer of the patient's own skin and fat in a reliable manner, with minimal donor-site morbidity. The powerful perforator flap concept allows transfer of tissue from numerous, well-described donor sites to almost any distant site with suitable recipient vessels. Large-volume flaps can be sup...

Bipedicle-conjoined perforator flaps in breast reconstruction.

BACKGROUND For some patients seeking autologous breast reconstruction, there may be insufficient abdominal skin and soft tissue to reconstruct an adequately sized breast. Perfusion from a single-pedicle deep inferior epigastric perforator artery flap has a high degree of variability across the midline, and this further limits perfusion. We have found that bipedicle-conjoined abdominal perforato...
